Eagle Lake Protection Program (ELPP) Results and Next Steps
The Eagle Lake Protection Program, ELPP, is our lake health research initiative which began in 2023 with the support of donations from the Eagle Lake community. For three years volunteers conducted comprehensive water testing to research our lake's particular nutrient issues. To better understand our lake's ecosystem, more than 500 water samples were collected and analyzed by certified labs at UW Oshkosh led by Dr. Marcel Dijkstra, an expert in freshwater science, particularly in the areas of water quality, aquatic ecosystems, and lake management initiatives.

Next Steps
These results have been shared with the Eagle Lake Rehabilitation Committee (ELRC) which was formed by the Eagle Lake Management District in July 2025 to investigate options to improve the hypereutrophic condition of Eagle Lake.
We encourage residents and lake supporters to stay engaged, stay informed, and continue championing the long‑term health of Eagle Lake.
Your involvement remains essential!
