Why This Matters
Since the 1990s, rising phosphorus and nitrogen levels have pushed Eagle Lake from eutrophic to hypereutrophic, with more shoreline erosion, sediment, algae blooms and declining water quality. Because the watershed is small, coordinated actions by nearby homeowners and farmers can meaningfully improve conditions over time.
Protecting Eagle Lake begins along each shoreline. Learn what works, ask questions, and see practical ideas that may fit your property.

Educational Series Still Available
In an ongoing effort to inform and engage Eagle Lake residents, we have created an educational series on lake health, entitled “Ten Things You Should Know about Eagle Lake’s Environmental Challenges.” This series was our response to the excellent questions we receive regarding Eagle Lake’s history, current health and future outlook. As we look forward, we will do our best to explain the complex challenges we face, as well as share what can be done to help reduce human impact on Eagle Lake. Distribution was completed last year, but the menu for this Educational Series remains available as a resource to revisit and share, by clicking
